First pics with the new camera

I recently bought myself (after a longggg time of saving) a new DSLR camera. I am waiting (saving again) for the other lens I want so right now I am using my 50 mm. Its great for portraits and for not having to use a flash (or so I've heard). I am still trying to figure out how to maneuver through the menus on the screen. Here's my recent pics...I am not claiming they are good, but here they are.

One benefit of this camera is you don't have to use the flash so you don't get the big glare in the glass!
