I am still writing down updates on Jack on a monthly basis at least until he is two! He changes so much from month to month that it seems like I need to!
He is quite the character still...the other week when I was out of town Kurt took him to the outdoor mall and let him run around and touch everything. He then bought him a Godiva chocolate wafer which he loved also. The next day they went back to the mall again to play and immediately when he recognized they were at the mall, he started signing "more" (as in more chocolate please!).
This week we weaned him off his paci except during nap and nighttime. Kurt had him the first day during his first hour-long melt down. However each day its gotten better and he's started talking so much more! Today he was trying to repeat a lot of what I was saying which is very encouraging. We are also working on having him eat what's on his plate and not just blueberry muffins. We're making good progress in this too!
We've had such a hard time feeding Jack over the past few months. He seriously would only eat muffins for breakfast and eat nothing else the rest of the day. We attribute it to being sick the entire winter and also the everlasting teething! I think we've finally past the not eating challenge...yesterday he ate 3.5 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and two containers of peaches for lunch. Today on the way home from the park, he found an old snack cup in the back seat and was willing to eat the last 1/2 of a stale cheerio because he was hungry. I know it sounds sad to most reading this, but truly its an answer to prayer that he wants to eat!
Here's Jack's recent info:
*He loves to play in the sand!
*He loves loves loves trucks and watching construction.
*Favorite cartoons include Sesame Street, Thomas and Little Bear
*He still loves to snuggle with mom and dad on the couch.
*He laughs really hard when he toots in the tub and bubbles come up! It is so funny!
*He absolutely adores his daddy and the things they do together....a trip to target is very different with dad vs. mom. Mom has Jack in the shopping cart trying to pick up a few things. Dad lets him run around and they inspect everything at eye level! Kurt can make anything fun!
*He still wears 12-18 month shorts because he's so skinny!
*His blue eyes and long eye lashes still draw a lot of attention in the stores!
*He continues to remind us of what a loving and merciful God we have.
*He now sits through my entire prayer before bed with his hands folded and tries to say Amen. Its so precious to me.
Love you Jack!
