This year we were able to spend a week in the Bahamas with my mom, dad, brother and Marleigh. We all had a blast and really really enjoyed the beach and getting to spend time with family! We stayed in a condo that walked right out to the pool and was only a staircase away from the beach.
We snorkeled along the beach and also went on a guided snorkeling trip to see a sunken plane, a reef filled with fish and beautiful coral and then to see the reef sharks. Marleigh was the only one brave enough to get in with the sharks! AH! We went jet skiing and shopping on bay street and the straw market. I think mom and dad surprisingly were the best at bartering! Kurt and I were able to go out to dinner on a date while Jack was at home with the family. It was a treat! On our last night, we all went out to dinner at Cafe Matisse and then went over to Atlantis to shop at the Marina Village. We also walked through the casino which had enormous glass sculptures hanging from the ceiling...what a sight!
Jack didn't care much for the beach because the waves were so strong and he knew the pool was only a minute away. When we would get to the beach, immediately he would start walking (in the direction he thought the pool was) and say "pool pool pool". Kurt was so sweet and let me stay on the beach a few times while he took Jack up to the pool! On the last day we visited Fort Charlotte which was really fun! Jack loved the cannons.
Oh how we wish we were still on the beach...just a few more days would have been great!
