Dear Jack...

Just wanted to write to my sweet baby Jack and tell you what you have been up to recently. Yesterday you sang Jesus Loves Me while playing your guitar. I was almost in tears as you sang...you picked up your guitar and got in the "zone" as I call it when you are playing music. You get very focused to say the least. You sang, "Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so". I asked you to sing it again so I could record it but you proceeded to play and sing "E I E I O, McDonald, Tractor".

You are still a very silly boy and love to be goofy. In fact, you are often acting like a kitty or puppy throughout the day and sniffing everything from the carpet to mommy's leg. Occasionally you get into licking things like Henry and we have to go over the rule of no licking again. You also make very authentic cat and dog noises.

You can count to 10...your version goes something like this, "Un, two, free, four, ive, ix, seven (mommy said this one), eight, nine, ten". You are able to hold up your fingers to say you are two and also to count. You know all your colors and are working on your shapes now. You recognize your name when its written and sometimes say J, A.

In terms of play activities, you love to "boingy" on the bed with dad which means standing up and falling face first into the pillows. You love to play with your lego trains, play basketball and baseball, and play outside in the water. You also love dressing up too or pretending to be various animals or creatures. You love stickers and crafts (especially the gluing part). You love to run around naked after your bath while we chase you and say "Naked gumba!"

Today you actually approached daddy and asked to be put on the potty to go "ti ti" as you say". This is the first time you have asked us to do that. The m & m's help a little with the motivation.

You love your BSF class and in fact its one of the few places you leave mommy and don't cry! When I ask you what you learned at Bible school, you say "Je-us". You love to read Bible stories, especially Goliath and The Lions Den. You also love to read Dr. Seuss and anything with trucks. Speaking of trucks, you do have a mild obsession with them!

Foodwise, you are somewhat of a picky eater, but you have become better about trying things when we ask you to. Tonight you took a bite of cucumber and actually liked it! You then had to take a bite of chicken, which you always resist but we did let you dip it in cool whip!

You love to "pretend talk" on the phone to your grandparents.

You are super loving a have such a gentle spirit. You love to snuggle on the couch and watch movies and you always love to give kisses and hugs. When I told you my stomach was hurting the other day, you were very concerned and wanted to make sure I was ok. It was so sweet.

We love you so very much and love having you as our son.
