From Peoria, we drove back to St. Louis to stay with Kurt's family! What a great time! We were able to see most of Kurt's extended family and I think the total number of guests on Thanksgiving was 35, which is a record. We had a great time just hanging out, playing cards, Christmas shopping and spending time on the farm with Kurt's grandparents. Kurt has so many wonderful memories of time at the farm and so it was fun to have Jack experience so of that as well. Eric was there visiting from Chicago and we really enjoyed getting to see him! Jack thought he was pretty cool and loved when Eric played GI Joes with him. We also had a great time going to a wildlife park and seeing the elk, buffalo, deer and wild turkeys. We were even able to get out of the car and watch the elk "fight" with the antlers (I don't know the correct word for it!).
Here's a pictures of a bunch of the boy cousins and the reason why there's little hope of me ever having a girl!
It snowed on Thanksgiving for about 30 minutes and stuck just enough to look beautiful! What a treat!

The old barn newly painted a beautiful barn-red...what a stunning picture it was.
Grandpa gave us a tour of the old ban and told us all about the old farm equipment and the old wagons that his grandfather had used and that he had repaired over the years. (This was Kurt's great-great grandfather.) Although his grandfather referred to most of the things in the barn as "junk", you could tell that through his stories there was a sweet sentimental attachment to the wonderful and beautiful things in the barn.
