This weekend we headed to Austin for a family weekend, which is most likely our last road trip with just the three of us! Sounds funny to say that but June is rapidly approaching! Friday we went to McKinney Falls State Park which was very cool. As most of you know, finding running water in Texas is a rare and beautiful sight! We ate dinner at NoRTH which was located in the Domain area of Austin. It was very tastey! We stated at the aLoft which is one of our favorite hotels! You cannot beat white down comforters! Saturday we shopped a little and ate lunch at Annie's Cafe. Saturday night we took Jack to his second movie in a theater which was Gnomio and Juliet. Jack had a wonderful time! Sunday we went to the Zilker Park Kite Festival, which was the main reason we went to Austin. The festival draws 25,000+ people and has several categories for competitions of kites. It turned out to be a perfect day weather-wise and we had a wonderful time flying our kite. What a picture-perfect sight it was to see so many kites flying with the downtown in the background. Hopefully we will get to return next year! Who knows, maybe the kite Kurt and Jack make next year won't break and can be entered in the competition! They did attempt to make their own and it was quite impressive, but the wood did not hold up in the wind. Oh well, Jack loved his G.I. Joe kite that cost $2.99. It doesn't take much to impress a 2-year old! We are looking forward to many more family trips with four!
One of Jack's favorite activites...lounging or jumping in the bed with daddy!

Still chasing the kite tales...
Notice the enormous black bat kite in the background
Jack thought this kite was pretty cool.
