Jack turned 7 months on Saturday...just a little late getting the post in because of Jack's week-long stomach virus. Needless to say, my anxiety/stress level went up a notch or two and every noise I heard from Jack sounded like he was going to throw up. Just when I thought I had figured him out, blah...all over the chair (or carpet or rug or me!). Ah, the joys of motherhood.
Well this past month has been a big month for Jack. We are falling more and more in love with him every day. His little personality just keeps on coming out. He loves viewing the world from different angles as you will see below. However, because it's sooo cute, now he turns his head and smiles to get a reaction from mom.
Jack has also learned to follow instructions! Well, one at least which happens to be adorable as well. I reinfored the word KISS when Jack would try to kiss himself in his little mirror. One night I said, "Give daddy a kiss!" and he did! Now he gives kisses to mommy, daddy, turtle, etc. etc. Once again, to get a reaction. I'll take what I can get!
He is also learning to drink from a sippy cup. After a little practice, he how understands that he can chew on the tip and water comes out, but he hasn't figured out how to tip the cup up.
Jack is pretty close to crawling I think. He is always on his hands and knees rocking as hard as he can. I can see the wheels in his head turning as he tries to figure out how to move his hands and feet to reach his toy, but he can't quite do it yet. Every day I tell myself at least once, "I really really need to baby proof the house."
As you will see the kitty cats have become quite weary of Jack. Micki maintains her status of supervisor at all times, occassionally coming within arms reach of Jack only to realize she has made a huge mistake. Jack loves to pull on her fur and smiles when he sees her (or June!). He is very attentive to the meows and when he hears them, his eyes widen and he searches for them. June Bug is not so trusting of Jack. She hides under the covers and never gets more than 2 feet from Jack. She is a little smarter than Micki. Either way, they are in for a rude awakening once he is mobile. I can't wait!
Jack continues to serve as the neighborhood hero named Super Baby. I have not made him a cape, so he chooses to fly in the buff (plus a diaper).
Daddy is absolutely wonderful. Jack kicks and laughs when his dad comes home and loves to go on errands with his dad. Well, let me rephrase...mom loves when Jack goes on errands with his dad! Jack loves when his dad sniffs his toes and says "Stinky Toes!!". He laughs at Kurt's machine gun noises too!
We have continued our swim lessons and Jack is not too hot on the idea of going under water. I am dreading the heat this summer because Jack loves to be outside. The only good things about the heat is that we will get to go swimming at our own pool! Anyone who wants to join us is welcome. I am sure we will be making good use of our pool as soon as it's warm enough.
Jack is wearing 12-18 month clothing and can now walk in a circle around his play table. He is growing like a weed!
For Valentine's Day, Jack got his mommy a mini bouquet just like the one that Kurt got for her. Jack is still the apple of my eye and we have a lot of fun together. I wish I could preserve each memory in my head to replay whenever I wanted to. We take a lot of video of the little guy and tons of pictures. I love how fascinated he is with the little things in our world, such as the crunchy leaves or the cement truck across the street, or mommy's hair or daddy's nose. We are excited because both of our families are coming to visit very soon. I can't wait for them to see how much he has changed.

He is too adorable! He's so photogenic. It sounds like you have so much fun with him. Beware when he starts crawling-he will be everywhere!
