Eight Months!

Jack turned 8 months today! Man how time flies! He is doing more and more each day. He can now crawl like a champ! He can go from crawling to sitting on his own too. He talks a ton and his favorite foods are milk and bananas. He tells us he wants more bananas by saying "mmmm". It's cute. He doesn't say mama or dada, but does babble a lot saying, "la la la, da da da". Haven't heard "ma ma ma" yet though! ;)

He has also developed quite a bit of separation anxiety. He does not like me to leave the room or even put him down sometimes. As I have learned though, EVERYTHING is a season with him and it will pass. Then I will be thinking "I wish Jack wanted me to hold him and not always want to get down from my lap." I am trying to appreciate his desire to be with me before its gone.

One of the biggest and sweetest things Jack is known for these days is his love for his daddy. Whenever he sees Kurt, he kicks his legs and grins. When Kurt holds him and plays super-baby, Jack has a permanent smile. I love that he loves his dad.

Jack refuses to finger-feed, but is able to pick up something the size of a pinhead I swear. He loves the cats. Did I mention he loves the cats? He has attempted to crawl after them, but they are too smart and he is not fast enough yet. He loves our dog, particularly when Hudson licks Jack's toes. He just cracks up over and over again.

Jack is sleeping through the night with the occassional waking for his diaper changing. This is truly a blessing. I love my sleep and I am so happy Jack does too. He is still taking 3 naps a day.

He loves to be outside, but is not too fond of the grass on his hands and knees when he's trying to crawl. He loves to pick up leaves and tries to put them in his mouth. He spends tons of time just putting his hands in the grass and pulling it out just so he can watch it fall.

His new favorite toy is the Easter egg. It rolls around on the tile just out of his reach and he crawls after it. He also loves to pick it up and hear it fall on the tile. If I had only known, I wouldn't have bought him real baby toys!
