Jack turned 9 months today! I can't help but feel that this month feels "older" than 8 months in the sense of losing some of his baby-ness. He has certainly progressed developmentally over the past month. He is now a speed crawler and loves to chase after the cats. Just recently he was able to catch June Bug by the tail. Kurt witnessed the act and heard June cry out "Rearrrrrr". Of course we loved it! He loves to get into the pantry and fridge as well as anything else that he is not supposed to get in to. He does respond to the words no and stop but he must have short term memory loss because he gets this look on his face like "I'm innocent, I would never have touched that if I had known better." Then he goes back to touching the same things he wasn't supposed to touch. (See picture below).
He is definitely a smart cookie. He knows that not all food entering his mouth is going to taste good. He makes me touch the baby food to his lips before actually letting me feed him a whole spoon full. Speaking of food, he has started eating Cheerios (and flinging them). He loves to drink water out of a big boy cup but can't quite figure out how to suck the water through a sippy cup.
He has started pulling up to his knees and occassionally to his knee and one foot. He tries to use his arms to pull himself all the way to his feet, but what ends up happening is his feet then slide under the coffee table and he gets stuck. He then cries and has to be pulled out. His newest thing is that he now looks under things. He looks under the door in the dressing room to see out or looks under the coffee table to see his blocks. It's cute.
Over the past week, he has returned to the tried and true head tilt/smile when anyone smiles at him. He is a hit with the ladies.
He loves to crawl over my legs, back and forth back and forth. It's hilarious when he gets stuck midway through. He is quite adventurous and has had several forehead bruises to prove it. The last one is just now fading into light yellow! He's such a boy.
He still gets super excited when his daddy comes home. When he hears his voice, he immediately starts crawling to the front door from where ever he is. His hair is getting lighter too like Kurt's. I think his eyes are going to stay blue (or so they say they usually change by 9 months if they are going to).
Some of Jack's favorite activities include playing in the sandbox up at the park, going for walks, sitting in the yard and watching mommy blow bubbles, playing with other little kids (or following them around), super baby, eating baby food, chasing the cats, bathtime, swimming lessons, and getting his toes licked by Hudson.
Jack loves his paci, but we are trying to get rid of it. Instead, he just crawls around with his toys in his mouth. His favorite toy to carry around in his mouth is his mini rubber ducky. He holds its head in his mouth. He loves when I crawl after him saying "I'm going to get you" tickling his feet.
We are loving our time with Jack and love watching him transform before our eyes.

I can't believe he is already 9 months!! He really is starting to look more and more like a little boy instead of a baby!!
