This year we decided to do one long trip for the holidays and see both families, which turned out great! We flew to St. Louis and then drove to Peoria first. It was a such a blast and even though it was Thanksgiving, it felt more like Christmas with all the presents, cooking making and decorating! Jack had his first lesson in the precise task of making gingerbread cookies. Although it takes a long time, it really pays off....I can attest to that many times over! Jack also had fun playing outside and raking leaves with my dad. The weather was nice enough to be outside whicih was great, considering the week after we left it fell to the 20s.
Jack learned to play the piano which he enjoyed throughout the trip!
We brought Henry with us and he had the privilege of having a playmate at my parent's house-Chance! He is a King Cav too but was only a few months old. It was such a riot watching the two of them play. I loved seening Chance grab onto Henry's ear to get him to play! It makes me want another one!
We celebrated Henry's first birthday also! It was so cute! Here's his birthday plate with his bone birthday cake! Jack helped him blow out his candle!
I made felt birthday hats for all the guests. (Well, only the guests under 3 years old!)
Jack got to have his Christmas early with my parents. He loves his new guitar and his texting phone with qwerty keypad!
My dad swears he does not like dogs and that Chance is such a pain, however, this was proven to be a lie! It was clear that he was in love and secretly has a soft heart for his pup!
Jack also received a new shave kit with Buzz Lightyear cream! He was practicing on Papa! He loves to play with this in the bathtub and shave his whiskers like Daddy!
Here's Jack eating his first gingerbread man(well actually second, but I don't think he remembered from last year!)
He loved to apply the sprinkels!
And eat the icing!
After we ice the cookies, we have a contest to judge which cookie was the best in each cateogry. The categories this year were musicians, cartoon characters, and unicorn or zombie (this was Marleigh's idea...I think she's been watching too much Twilight!). My mom won musician with Elivs and Kurt won the cartoon character with Cookie Monster and the unicorn which he made into a zombie...he's quite creative! My dad likes to make one cookie to stand for all the categories...somehow his zombie was also Lady Gaga! My brother acts like he doesn't want to participate in the contest, but always comes up with something at the last minute! I think he had more fun watching Jack eat all the candy!

What a great trip. Henry's party made me laugh-I love the hats you made. Jack is so cute putting the sprinkles on his cookies.
We loved every minute with you all -- loved seeing Jack's intense look while rolling gingerbread. We were amazed that he did such a great job rolling and decorating and of course eating his gingerbread! Love to all! Mom
