Today after Bible school, we headed to the park to play with our friend Pierson. It was so cute to watch them run side by side and yell "monsters and dragoooons!" On the way home I received a full report about what the two of them had been playing. Apparently Jack took Pierson to outer space and they fought the monsters and dragons with swords!
Somehow our coversation took a dramatic turn towards talking about spiritual things. I wanted to write it down as soon as I could so I would not forget his precious words. The following is a very abbreviated version of what I can remember from his 10-minute non-stop talking session in the back of the van.
Jack: I help the poor people and buy them icecream. I will use money and tickets.
Me: Oh, you are going to help the poor people who don't have any food or money?
Jack: Yes, I will do that because I am a big helper.
Me: Yes, you are God's helper. He wants us to help people who are poor and sick.
Jack: I will give the little kids some of my toys who don't have toys. I will take them to Toys R Us and Target to find some toys. God will come to my house and I will sit in his lap and he willl tell me what he says. I will look at God and see the color of his eyes.
Me: What color do you think his eyes are?
Jack: Maybe blue. He will look at me and see my blue eyes and I will see what he says for me to do. I will play with God.
Me: One day you will get to play with Jesus and sit in God's lap when you go to Heaven!
Jack: One day I will play with God in Heaven!
I was almost in tears as he continued to talk about sitting in God's lap and listening for what God wanted him to do. Jack has no idea how right his thinking is and how this is something I so often forget to do. Thank you Jack for reminding me to sit and listen to my God and seek His will.

Such a sweet conversation!
That is just precious! Definitely a conversation you will want to remember.
From the mouths of babes! So awesome to see his love for the Lord!
If we each could only see God coming into our house and imagine sitting in His lap and know that we can be close enough to see the color of His eyes..beautiful reflection of God's Spirit in Jack..Love, Dad Trauth
