Jack's First Big Fib

The other day we had a baby shower thrown for us at our home and of course Jack was there! He was so pumped after having his little friends. At nap time, I know he was wiped, but sure enough about 10 minutes after putting him down, he got out of his bed for the first time and started to play with his toys. I didn't bother to go in and tell him to stop playing and go to sleep because I figured he was wired from the party. I decided to lay on the couch and listen. He didn't come out for over an hour and a half. At one point he was playing so intently he started to yell and cheer. At about 3, it got really quiet in his room for about 10 minutes and I thought he had gone to sleep, but then the playing started again. Kurt and I opened the door to find him sweetly in his bed with his giant top. I asked him if he took and nap, and he replied, "Oh yes, I took a really long nap". I said, "Oh that's interesting because daddy and I heard you playing the whole time!". He just smiled really big and buried his face in his sheets. I decided not to talk about the etiquette of nap time because I didn't want to give him any further ideas about the fun he could have! Since then, he has taken a nap each day, but I am sure it will happen again some day. I just could not believe that he really was telling us a fib and didn't think we knew what he had been doing. Too funny!
