As the title says, we made it to Colorado today before noon. Jack was great on the flight, and we were even given two snacks (beat that American Airlines!). We met a nice lady on the plane who convinced us to move to Denver. :)
After we arrived, we drove the scenic Highway 25 down to Colorado Springs, and then took 24 to Woodland Park. It's been raining most of the day, yet has proven to be one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited. I felt like we were driving through a Bob Ross painting. The mountains looked too perfect to be real, and the sky high evergreens are fascinating. The most beautiful part of the scenery to me, thus far, is the way the newly budding birch trees constrast with the dark evergreens. Kurt's favorite memory has been the ranch cat spraying the tire of his car. Needless to say, we've had several cats visit our cabin, so we bought some cat food at the grocery store to see how many we could attract (hopefully no bears catch a whiff!). I took a nap on the couch this afternoon, and couldn't believe how quiet the ranch was. No dogs barking, no music pounding...nothing. It was perfect.
Lastly, for those of you from Texas, don't ever eat Mexican food in Colorado - that's all I have to say.
The Black Forest on the drive to our ranch
This is the view from our cabin - you can see Pike's Peak!

SO beautiful!!
It looks like you guys are going to have an amazing time!
Ummm, yeah you may attract more than cats at your cabin :).
Side note - I climbed Pikes Peak (half way) when I was in high school, and to this day that is the most physically exhausted I have ever been in my entire life.
