Audrey at 18 months

Audrey was 18 months on November 28...I had a friend email me to wish her a happy 1.5 year birthday! I can't believe I had forgotten. What they say is true...the second child does get shafted a bit. Audrey not as much since she is a girl! But she definitely gets less pictures taken and less blogging time! Anyhow, here's an update on our little girlie...

*She said her first word, which was MOO on 11/12/12. We went to the doctor for her 18 month check up and that was the only word she could say. The doctor said he wasn't concerned since Jack was a little late in talking and all of her other development was great. Literally that day we went home and she started saying "uh-oh", "hi", "baa" and "ruff ruff". Since then she has added "bow" and "Jaaa" for Jack. She also makes a lion noise. She is pretty stinkin cute.
*She loves to take baths with Jack and she takes on responsibility for washing his back and hair!
*Her favorite foods are peanut and almond butter, crackers, raspberries (which she will only eat if they are on her finger tip), Laughing Cow cheese, squeezable apple sauce and yogurt.
*She loves to read books and sit in your lap while doing so. She holds her finger up while we read/sing "This Little Light of Mine" and I think its precious. She usually only makes it through half a book before she goes to get another one. Sometimes she'll even go off by herself and sit in her big recliner with a book to read.
*She has started to become very accident prone...she fell out of a chair yesterday and had a huge egg within seconds. Somehow she busted her lip just by climbing onto the couch! Go figure!
*She is very very sweet and affectionate and loves to give/get kisses.
*She is also very feisty at times. She knows how to get her way with Jack and screams at him until he lets go of something. Jack is usually the one coming to me in tears because of Audrey. We are working on asking for a toy rather than taking it.
*She loves to be outside and is very brave. She'll go down a big slide without hesitation.
*She is working on dropping a nap but she is still teetering between 1 and 2.
*She is quite independent in group play situations. Kurt and I have both volunteered in her class at church and she did not cling to us or sit on our lap much at all. She seemed very confident and enjoyed being away from us. Jack was usually sitting in our lap the whole time if we were in his class.
*Something random...she has been really in to licking things recently. So odd! This morning I caught her licking a dvd cover all over! lol!
