"The Night Walkers"

Ok, so I had to post this because it is just too hysterical to keep to myself. Our neighborhood has a Yahoo group where the members can email each other about different issues or questions. Well some of them take it a little too far. Here is the latest string of postings...

Enough is enough-keep your dogs in your own yard!

I am getting very tired of guarding my yard from some preditors we have in our neighborhood! What am I talking about? Not the occasional neighbor that walks their dog but the dirty neighbor who waits until around dark to walk not one but three or four dogs so they can have their way without having to clean it up! I walk my dog to the mailbox and I carry a plastic bag. I confronted the lady who let her several dogs do their business in my yard about dark one evening while I was out and was pulling in my drive about the time she could not help but be caught. When I confronted her she was polite and asked if I had a bag she could "borrow". Of course she was going to clean it up. I happen to be standing out this evening at the front of my car near the garage and here she comes again but had her family with her this time. They saw me and did not cross the street. As I watched the neighbors got a good fertilizer session! This is not the only one! I can't tell you how many piles I have had to remove from my front yard. My dog uses the backyard. I need to know the proper course of action. People like this can not be embarrassed. I will do what it takes to stop them. I prefer to be peaceable but at this juncture they are acting like common thieves. I will treat them accordingly. Wow what neighbors we have...

At our house we call these people "The Night Walkers." I can understand waiting until dark when it is relatively cooler, but be a responsible pet owner and neighbor and clean up after your dog, please! It really is unfair to allow your dog to leave a mess for others to clean up. I wonder, though, are they Hart Ranch neighbors, or are they pet owners who live across the street in the apartments who are making use of our lawns? If you don't want to re-use a plastic grocery bag you can get pick up bags at Pet Smart that come in a handy little dispenser.

He "PREFERS to be peaceable" ??? That's a little unsettling. Ahhh, neighborhood drama. :)

As hilarious as it is, I totally understand! There is a guy who lives a street behind us and I can't begin to count the number of times his dog has pooped in our front yard on their morning walk and he hasn't done anything to clean it up, despite his collection of plastic bags hanging from his leash!

It really only bothers me now that Inara and I play in the front yard, I have to make sure she isn't playing in poop and that's ridiculous!
